President's House Renovation

The Citadel   |   Charleston, South Carolina

The Citadel Quarters 1 (President's House) is an existing 1950's residential structure located on The Citadel's campus. This project scope encompassed interior upgrades to portions of the existing house and the incorporation of ADA access ramps at the front entry. Demolition to sections of the interior included removal of kitchen and butler pantry cabinetry, removal of bathroom vanities and plumbing fixtures, removal of appliances, and floor finishes.

The new kitchen design includes features that allow the space to be utilized for daily residential use by the President's family, along with light commercial abilities for caterers and The Citadel's food service provider for various events and social gatherings that occur in the residence. Existing wood floors were refinished in select locations of the residence. Select bathrooms that have never been previously renovated received new finishes and plumbing fixtures.
