Johns Island Fire Station #7

St. John's Fire District   |   Johns Island, South Carolina

This new 5,600-square-foot fire station enhances fire protection and emergency response times for the growing northwestern area of Johns Island. Designed as a drive-through facility, its apparatus bay can house up to two fire trucks, allowing for quick mobilization and efficient equipment storage. The residential wing accommodates a rotating crew of eight with bunk spaces, lockers for all personnel, a communal kitchen and living area, a fitness room, and a laundry facility, supporting around-the-clock readiness and comfort for first responders.
The station’s exterior was thoughtfully crafted to reflect the rural character of Johns Island, harmonizing with the surrounding residential architecture. This blend of functional, efficient design with aesthetic sensitivity ensures that the new facility not only meets the area’s increasing emergency response demands but also respects the island’s landscape and community identity.
