Kiawah Island Fire Station No. 4
St. John's Fire District | Kiawah Island, South Carolina

A long-standing fixtures on the island, St. John’s Fire District Kiawah Stations No. 4 was transformed into a new state-of-the-art facility to benefit the community. The existing fire station was built in the 1990’s and had become outdated and undersized. A temporary station was utilized during construction, at an adjacent site.
The design and layout of this station was the mirror image of our design of Kiawah Station #6. The new station included 3 apparatus bays, with the living areas of the building elevated above flood level. The living areas of the station were designed to allow for 10 people per shift. Those areas include bunk and bathroom facilities, kitchen, dayroom, fitness room, laundry room, office space and support facilities. The station is also equipped with a 100% backup generator.
