This project replaced an outdated and undersized middle school originally constructed in 1954 with a new facility designed to serve the
evolving needs of the community. To maintain uninterrupted operations, the project was phased, utilizing Garrett Academy as a temporary swing campus during demolition of the existing school and construction of the new building. Working closely with school administrators and the construction manager, the team implemented targeted modifications to support academic programs, administrative functions, and campus operations while minimizing disruption to students and staff.

Designed to accommodate 900 students, the new middle school features modern instructional classrooms, science labs, band and
chorus rooms, a state-of-the-art media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, locker rooms, administrative offices, and support spaces. The project creates a contemporary learning environment that enhances safety, functionality, and flexibility while supporting the district’s long-term educational goals.
