South Carolina Department of Mental Health   |   Sumter, South Carolina

SCDMH's goal is to provide sufficient mental health services in communities, to minimize consumers need for hospitalization by having greater access to treatment services. The existing facility was no longer suitable for current client volume and treatment programs. The new facility houses 85 staff and serve approximately 2,670 clients annually and also houses both the existing mental health center programs, as well as two additional Department of Mental Health offices. The new facility provides the following services: Adult Outpatient Services, Assertive Community Treatment, Elder Services, Rehabilitation Psychosocial Services Employment Services, Day Treatment, Administration and Training and Facility Support. Construction also included parking for 140 vehicles and landscaping improvements.
